Music Nest Norway
Music Producers´ Management Organization
What is the purpose of Music Nest Norway?
Music Nest Norway (Music Nest) is the music producers' collective management organization. The purpose of the association is to manage music producers' exclusive rights to sound recordings and videograms, including entering into license agreements on behalf of rights holders, and further collect and distribute the allocated remuneration. The purpose of the association, within the areas that the members want Music Nest to administer, is to make audio recordings and videograms available to users on market terms, as an alternative to direct licensing. The association will ensure that remuneration is distributed to rights holders in accordance with the Act on Collective Management of Copyright.
Music Nest is a non-profit membership organization which manages rights on behalf of both members and non-members. It is crucial for the association that the administration of exclusive rights takes place efficiently and with a high degree of transparency. At the same time, Music Nest is convinced that we get better by listening. This is why we highly evaluate dialogue with both rights holders and music users.
At Music Nest, we always take actual usage into account, and work continuously to develop and improve principles for distribution and systems for processing the large amounts of data that form the basis for the distribution of the remuneration. The claiming system myMusicNest (under development), where music producers, members and non-members, can access and claim repertoire that has been used, helps to ensure that Music Nest distributes the remuneration correctly, efficiently and transparently.
Agreements on use of music
Music Nest works intensively with licensing. We do this because we believe that if it is easy to enter into agreements regarding use of music, the music will reach out to more users. This in turn creates value both for music-loving users of music, for music services and for rights holders.
Music Nest administers music producers' rights to sound recordings and videograms.

We are listening
It is important for us to be in dialogue with rights holders, members, and partners, as we together create a strong and efficient association.

Procedures
Complaints procedure
If you want to make a complaint about Music Nest's management, administration, decisions, or other matters, your complaint will be brought before Music Nest's board for consideration at a forthcoming board meeting. We kindly ask that any complaints are sent in writing to post@musicnest.no.
Conflict resolution procedure
Any disputes between those who have rights to repertoire administered by the association, must be resolved between those involved in the dispute, as the association does not have the competence to determine who is the rightful owner of the repertoire to which any dispute may apply.
Music Nest will suggest a conflict resolution procedure that can assist the parties to reach an agreement, but Music Nest will not make decision in the dispute conflicts.
